TKS has been supplying English language radio and television channels to U.S. military communities for over a decade.
Since its conception back in 1988 and subsequent agreement with the Assistant Secretary of Defense Dan Howard in February 1989, we at TKS have constantly expanded upon the variety and quality of programming we provide. From the original eight channels we introduced to Bitburg Air Base in mid-1989 and an investment of more than $30 million Euro, TKS cable subscribers today benefit from 15 English language channels, 1 Spanish channel and an optional movie channel which are viewable with a standard NTSC American television. A further 10 PAL channels are included for viewers who have multi system televisions, and 8 premium FM stereo radio channels round off this unique service.
TKS can connect within 24hrs over 50,000 family housing units, military dormitories, single soldier quarters, hospital rooms, military hotels and transient housing facilities in Germany.
We are a European leader in the technical expertise required to convert European Pal standard satellite programming for viewing on the American NTSC system. With advances in digital technology the expansion of the service is only limited by how many free-to-air channels are available.
