TKSShop Gütersloh celebrated its grand open on 13 February 2008.  

The brand new TKSShop shop joins our expanding network of locations that brings TKS’s English language services to the British Forces Germany (BFG). 

Gütersloh Station, along with Bielefeld and Herford are the three British army stations that comprise the Gütersloh Garrison military community. The German city of Gütersloh is located in north-eastern North Rhine-Westphalia, neighboring the districts of Bielefeld, Warendorf, and Paderborn.

Deutche Telekom technicians are poised to walk off the job in various locations throughout Germany on Friday May 11, 2007 as part of a general strike against their employer Deutsche Telekom (DTAG).

The strike will have a wide-reaching impact on all German service providers and their customers: a general slow-down of telephone and DSL activations, as well as the scheduling of new and existing service appointments is expected. 

The DTAG technical staff administers and maintains the greater telephone network throughout the country, for all fixed network service providers operating within Germany. A strike therefore effects not only Telekom subscribers, but also customers of other service providers, such as TKS.

Regardless of the Deutsche Telekom strike and the limitations that it may impose, TKS will continue to serve our valued customers and will work together in reaching reasonable accommodations and solutions.

TKS Cable Highspeed Internet service is now available at Wiesbaden’s Erbenheim housing area.

With Cable Highspeed, Erbenheim residents will be able to surf the web with an unlimited monthly flat rate over an “always on” high-performance Internet connection. Previously, only dial-up service was available in this housing area.

USO Award ceremony

On Tuesday, March 14, 2006, David J. McIntyre Jr., president and CEO of TriWest Healthcare Alliance and Karl-Heinz Stahl, CEO of TKS Kaiserslautern were recognized for their sponsorship of the USO at an award ceremony held at the Ramstein AB Passenger Terminal. Mr. Stahl and Mr. McIntyre were presented with mementos of appreciation by General Tom Hobbins, USAFE Commander, and by the Honorable Edward A. Powell Jr., President and CEO of the USO.

Located in the new “Gateway to Europe,” the recently expanded USO facility in the Ramstein Passenger Terminal is visited by 30,000 service members monthly. TKS’s corporate sponsorship includes the donation of free cable television and internet access. Internet terminals and a Hotspot is now available to service members over their laptop PC’s. Up to 250 users can logon simultaneously to TKS’s high-speed wireless network at the USO Center in the Ramstein terminal.

TKS is a long-standing supporter of the USO and has been a “Diamond Sponsor” for 9 years. “It was truly an honor for our contributions to be recognized by Mr. Powell and General Hobbins, and by the service members and their families that have benefited from our contributions,” says Mr. Stahl. In addition to a USO Europe plaque and coin from General Hobbins, a USO banner was presented to Mr. Stahl. The banner is signed by the staff of the Ramstein USO, the 723rd AMS and by service members that have visited the USO center at Ramstein.

“All of us at TKS take great pride in the honors that were bestowed upon us,” added Mr. Stahl, “and we look forward to a continued partnership with the USO, and the local community in the future.”

On-base convenience - free of cost bill payment

TKS has now added yet another feature to our unique TKSSnap! English language telephone service: bill payment at a TKSShop. There are absolutely no payment surcharges and your TKSShop payment will be immediately credited to your billing account.

To pay your telephone bill at a TKSShop, you must be a TKSSnap! customer and a US Military I.D. card holder with access to American military installations. TKS cannot accept payments for other German service providers, such as Deutsche Telekom, or at any of our TKS agency affiliates.

It is possible for Telekom customers to transfer their existing Telekom service to TKSSnap! The prices, calling plans and even your telephone number will remain exactly the same.

After transferring to TKSSnap!, you can enjoy the comfort and convenience of English language bills and Customer Service along with the new easy to use bill payment option available at any TKSShop.
