Declaration of Accessibility TKS Telepost Kabel-Service Kaiserslautern GmbH

Introduction

This declaration is made to implement the requirements of EU Directive 2102. For TKS, according to German law, these are the Act on the Equality of People with Disabilities (Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz - BGG) and the Ordinance on the Creation of Barrier-Free Information Technology under the Disability Equality Act (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung - BITV 2.0).

We are working to make our consumer products and services accessible, especially our communication. However we have not been able to achieve all of our goals, which is mainly due to the scope of the challenge. In addition, there are also individual cases where we refrain from creating accessibility due to conflicting legal requirements or because of the unreasonableness of the effort.

You can find out more about our overall goals, what solutions we already offer, and what still needs to be done below.

This declaration applies to the TKS website www.tkscable.com, the myTKS and easyTV apps, as well as the documents that we send in connection with contracts and TKS services.

For our website, apps and documents, we have decided not only to implement the minimum legal requirements from the Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) and the yet-to-be-issued harmonized standard EN 301 549, but also to achieve the 'WCAG AA' level.

Status of compatibility with the requirements for the TKS website www.tkscable.com, myTKS and easyTV apps, and contract-relevant PDF documents

We have evaluated accessibility in accordance with BITV 2.0's requirements in a self-test and PDF/UA suitability with appropriate test tools.

We have already achieved a great deal along the way and have successfully adapted a large part of our website, apps and documents to the globally recognized standard.

  • In forms, input purposes and sample formats are displayed.
  • Input fields in forms have been provided with format validations and meaningful error messages.
  • The essential navigation and selection functions can be operated via keyboard.
  • Zoom and contrast settings can be adjusted as needed.
  • The summary page in the purchase process is fully accessible.
  • The easyTV app supports closed captions.
  • The user interfaces of the myTKS app and the easyTV app are barrier-free.
  • PDF documents available on the website or for download meet the PDF/UA standard.

Of course there is still much to accomplish, as our goals are not yet fully realized.

  • Elements of decorative or entertaining character (e.g. integrated videos) might not be barrier-free.
  • Providing alt-texts for all graphics / buttons / links is an ongoing process that is constantly being worked on.
  • Manual steering of the home slider is yet to be implemented.

Partially page content might not be optimized yet for

  • programmatic reading
  • skipping to landmarks

Perceptibility

We have not yet been able to adjust all aspects of perceptibility. For example, alternative texts are not available in all cases. Tables and page headings/structures may also not always be correct in individual cases, which is why a correct description may not be given in all cases.

Operability

Usability aspects have not yet been fully updated. This includes in particular the continuous navigation via keyboard, which only works incompletely in some places, as well as the minimum size of clickable elements. Skipping areas cannot yet be guaranteed in all documents.

Intelligibility

Elements of comprehensibility, in particular language-related criteria, could not yet be fully adapted to the requirements.

Compatibility

The role and value of elements may not be fully available in some places.

User preferences

Settings can be changed where applicable.

Customer service

You can contact customer service at any time via several channels, which serve different but all sensory channels.
Authentication mechanisms are currently not available in an accessible form, as changes to these mechanisms would violate legal and regulatory requirements.

Telecommunications services, real-time text, total call services

In accordance with § 14 of the Ordinance on the BFSG, we are obliged to enable text in real time for contracts for voice communication services concluded after 28 June 2025 (but no later than 27 June 2030). We have created the necessary conditions for this in our network. The activation of this function in individual cases depends on the end device used (mobile phone, etc.); please check with the respective manufacturer.

Important: Real-time text is only available if you are not on a 2G network and not only your own device, but also the respective conversation partner is able to use the function itself in compliance with the standard. In cases where one of the terminals does not offer the processing of a text communication, it cannot be activated. Incorrect processing of requests to enable the text-in-real-time feature can also lead to the call not being made or being abandoned according to the standard. This applies in particular to emergency call centers, which in the vast majority of cases are not able to use text in real time. For emergency calls, we will therefore only enable additional text communication where the emergency call carriers have ensured standard-compliant processing.

Since we do not offer our own video services, we do not offer a complete call service ourselves. However, the offer of Tess GmbH commissioned by the Federal Network Agency in accordance with § 51 para. 4 TKG is available to you.

Products

Products that we used to provide our services before 28 June 2025 are generally not fully accessible and can still be used until 27 June 2030. If you need an accessible device, contact TKS customer service. A service representative will do their best to provide you with an accessible device.
Details on the accessibility of the products we use or distribute can be found on the packaging, in the enclosed product documentation.
